P2P transport enters Queensland Market

P2P Transport (P2P), one of Australia’s largest fleet management businesses focussed on the point- to-point passenger transport industry has joined forces with Black & White Cabs’ subsidiary companies Taxis Qld, ABC Bodyworks and Black & White Taxi Management (the BWTM Group). Combined, Taxis Qld and BWTM are Queensland’s largest taxi fleet operators.

Black & White Cabs Managing Director Greg Webb said the relationship gave the BWTM Group access to more resources, knowledge and vehicles across the eastern seaboard.

“This is a significant move for the BWTM Group as we now have the benefit of P2P’s scale and access to new digital and technological infrastructure. At the same time our existing team will continue to deliver great service and the combined businesses future looks bright,” Mr Webb said.

P2P Chief Executive Tom Varga said joining forces with the BWTM Group created the first eastern seaboard fleet management business in the point to point transport industry.

“Working with the BWTM Group means we can deliver better outcomes for passengers. At P2P we are focused on delivering the best vehicles possible to drivers and that means a better experience and superior service for passengers,” Mr Varga said.

“We are confident of the potential growth for this industry with Australia’s population forecast to grow from 24.8 million in 2017 to 28.9 million by 2027 and increased demand for point-to-point passenger transport being stimulated by growth in markets such as tourism, travel, leisure and entertainment.

BWTM is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Black & White Cabs Group with taxi fleet operations in Brisbane, Gold Coast and Toowoomba.

BWTM started operating in January 2003, operating taxis on licences leased from Black & White Cabs and managing taxi licences for investors. The first taxi base was located at Coopers Plains, but in 2009 BWTM expanded with taxi bases located in Ashmore, Toowoomba and Albion.

P2P Transport is one of Australia’s largest fleet management businesses focussed on the point-to- point passenger transport industry. The BWTM Group joins an aggregator to take advantage of their business resources and marketing power.

Black & White Cabs operates booking services in Brisbane, Redcliffe, Toowoomba and Perth, and remains an independently owned entity, with Greg Webb the major shareholder.
